4 Reasons Why the Gucci Slip-Ons are High-End Unforgettables

I.
Rich Man’s Vans.  Vans released their slip-ons and skateboarders went crazy in the 80’s.  Gucci threw their print on the same shoe and the results have been unforgettable! Skateboarders in Southern California embraced the shoes.  Any real skateboarder will agree that scuffs, dirt and permanent marker are a must when it comes to the shoes that they wear to ride.  This led to many unique pairs of Vans slip-ons.  Gucci was truly inspired by the popularity of the simple design and decided to borrow the layout and add the Guccissima pattern.

They come in kid’s sizes!! Companies don’t always release their classics in children’s sizes but the Gucci slip-ons are an exception! Grab your little one a pair too!! Ryan Christina Aris, who was a chief executive at Versace prior to joining Gucci, revealed the news that Gucci would launch a children’s line in 2010.  Gucci cut no corners, appointing Frida Giannini as the creative director of the line.  Giannini is responsible for many of Fendi’s most creative ready-to-wear designs.  She worked at Fendi until 2001 and joined Gucci in 2002.

The random color ways that pop up from time to time!! There was the blue suede pictured below and then Gucci simply waited a while before releasing the beautiful leather renditions of the classic design.  I have spotted the leather collection in children’s sizes on Gucci’s website.  In 2010, Gucci’s London store released a limited edition pair of white and blue slip-ons.  English musician Mark Ronson designed the pair.  He has designed numerous released for Gucci thanks to his friendship with Frida Gianni.   In an interview, he shares the story of how he showed up to his first meeting at Gucci with a bag of old tennis shoes that he intended to use as inspiration for his designs.  He was embarrassed to find out that the collaboration was not at that stage yet, instead the company wanted to get to know Ronson first.

The classic leather pairs that released fit Gucci's brand a bit more than the canvas releases.  You can get the leather version in children's sizes as well!!
